StockingAs agreed with the River Tweed Comissioners, the river was stocked once during the 2007 season. This stocking took place during the earlier part of the season and saw the introduction of 1500 brown trout between 12" and 14" inches in length. To prevent genetic contamination with the wild trout, these fish were triploids and consequently unable to breed successfully. No stocking will be carried out during the 2008 season or thereafter in order to promote the stocks of wild indigenous brown trout.
